Environment.co.za is a news article, blog, forum and community site covering environmental issues from South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Africa and Worldwide. This site was started in 2003 and grew quickly to become one of the most read environmental news sources in South Africa and has remained that way for nearly 7 years now. Our membership database grows daily and includes many important people, organisations, government entities and many of the who's who of business in South Africa. Membership is and always will remain free.

We've decided to move away from a forum format to a new blog format and the conversion has been a daunting task. With the launch of our new format web site all web site members automatically have permission rights to post their own articles and almost 95% of old content has been moved across and existing members will find their old articles already linked to their profile. All new article submissions are first reviewed before being published as we have to keep bad elements out of our site who try to post spam related content.

With the new format web site we've grown the categories of environmental and green information considerably and are now feeding in content from a variety of sources. We ALWAYS give credit to the source of information and all articles link back to the original web sites, it's just the right thing to do. We aim to start introducing guest bloggers on environment.co.za and will have more news about that once the new site is launched. If you thought we were big before, hold on to your hats !!!

This site is a non-commercial web site. We do not endorse any specific product or service nor do we endorse any particular news article or item which appears on this web site. The Google Advertising embedded into this web site helps every so slightly to make up for the considerable costs of operating this web site but barely comes close to covering our bandwidth and webmastering bills .... not by a long shot. Should we ever reach our target of covering costs, any excess generated will be donated to a local charity or organisation in South Africa dealing with environmental issues.
